just to agree qith pretty much everything:
every fun or very good build has been nerfed... (i think only mm is left, if that damage doesnt scatter enemies :P) especially fire ele.... i thought the whole meaning of an ele... wait... let me get my pretty booklet from the guild wars cd case...
elemtalists are perfect foor dealing large amounts of damage across large groups of enemies in a short matter of time...
so, since you nerfed the ele (only thing left is to air spike in pvp, cos its nearly useless in pve)....
lets just keep it this simple: GW is fun, by dealing huge amounts of damage, and seeing your screen filled with numers... cos of damage you deal by nuking, ss, or whatever... that is what people want! now... you RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed that up... the single most best thing of the game... gone to bits, now what do we do? like... 3 mm's, 2 monks and 2 warriors in every party? since there is nothing else as effective as that?
now farming, im currently at 4,467 minutes at the Incorrigable Alehound title... which cost me a bit more than 1 million, and since i only have 180k left, i'll never (at least not the next 10 years) be able to get those 10.000 minutes! unless i can farm again... furthermore, how will players be able to get FoW armor? and the thing i hate most of all, my req8 15^50 storm bow, which used to be worth like 200k... is not even 10k now
conclusion: i might even cancel my ordered copy of nightfall, and wont probably play this game, ever again... ANET just ****ed up the 1,284 hours in nearly 18 months that i've played this game... thanks now im going to bed and cry for a month...

yes we want shinies?
i have finished prophecies 6 times, and factions 3.5 times :P but after that i want to be able to get stuff that actually makes people go "wow he's cool" for example, i was saving for FoW armor on my monk, and trying to get Incorrigable Alehound title... but now, since i only got like 180k left... and cannot farm anymore... bye bye nearly 18 months of gw... 18 months of my life...

it is not about the farming build or location... because mobs now run away, its just a nightmare to kill em all 1 by 1...

Bad players can still play the game. But the root of your whining is those bad players won't invite you in their groups because of their uneducated discrimination against your profession.
ANet already has a fix for that: Henchies and Heroes.
But I guess it's easier to just whine till you can primadona your way through the game with some cookie cutter build yourself. Yes, that's it.

Sorry, but I find it hilarious that people are quitting because they cant farm anymore. Farming is one of the most boring aspects of gaming and only done because people want to collect more and more gold. Chasing that big carrot game.... What ever happend to actually playing the game?

maybe anet should just let players pick what skinned items they want at character creation, and then just be stuck with those skins for the whole game, and drops being weapons of only that skin. therefore theres no more drive to get massive amounts of gold for rare skinned items. that way the focus is entirely on storyline, lore, balance, etc.
...i think for the time being im gonna bust out the old school Deux Ex

Ok my thoughts...
I don't care about ss or any of the other AoE's because frankly, if my ass were set on fire, I'd run too even if it were just one hit. And if I were attacking something and discovered it hurt to do so, I'd quite.
My concern is this, with no agrro control at all, how can a team be expected to beat something like UW? If there is no aggro control at all, when that Aatxe breaks off, the first caster he sees is dead. 2 hits. that's all it takes for them to take out a caster.
My only request, is give the warriors a skill to retake aggro. Whether it be be called "Provoke" "Taunt" whatever. Give them a way to be able to take aggro off the casters to give the party a chance. We'll adapt to the rest as we always have, but give us something back other then a new dye color.

I did read what you said. You said you were quitting because you cant farm anymore. And that's hilarious. What about the new chapter? What about PVP? What about every new feature that recently was put in?
You're saying that even though there's new content, you're still quitting because you cant farm anymore.

They do, don't they? Still didn't stop me from killing all smite crawlers solo a few times over the last hour. It didn't even take much longer per run.
I've been laughing my ass off listening to people complain at the Temple of the Ages, between runs. Complaining doesn't help kill monsters, rethinking your strategies will.

At least not everyone here is overly upset about this. Much of the commentary reminds me of way back when people complained that THK was "too hard".

Umm, this update doesnt change that fact. Physical damage dealers are the best source of damage for speed, strength, and efficiency. Read up on why nuking sucks in the gladiator's forum found here. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=113319
If anything, it at least gives the developers a reason to consider bringing spell based damage up to par compared to physical damage dealers since exploiting AI will be less of a valid counter argument.

You dont have to be in a "top" guild on ts to be a capable player yourself. Most of the game can be completed with the old style henchmen with poor skill bars. Starting tomorrow, people will have acess to customized henchmen, who you can force to use skills at any given time. If anything, the game is about to get signifigantly easier and more reliable even without other human players. If nothing else, there is the faint hope that the "average" player will become more compotent than the old style AI henchmen following this change as they are forced to give up certain crutches used to make up for other areas of weakness.

Corrected, i certainly hope not, but i can guarentee that some fine tuning will take place. Most likely targeting physical based aoe damage sources like barrage, basic scythe attacks, and some others.

I have a friend that JUST farms (He doesn't PvP, He has finished as many storyline characters as he wants, he just likes Farming..), and he was PISSED TIMES 3 last night.
I calmed him down though. He said if Nightfall offered some REALLY fun gameplay he would stay
His main problem is that the Update that errored up the greens also screwed up alot of his perfect gold items (mods disaapearing).

Not everyone enjoys pvp, and if the game was intended for pvp, then why make the pve campaign at all? also, a lot of the titles etc. require large amounts of money, like ekamdu said about the alehound title, likewise the lucky titles require a large amount of cash. a large part of guild wars is money, the acquisition of it and the spending of it on items/skills, etc. unless 15k armors and crystalline swords are now the mark of only commercial/pro farmers now, then wtf, we need some sort of farming to get items we like. and i dont want to have to play the game through with one character 1000 times to get the money i need for FoW, not even taking into account the increased ecto prices.

you completely missed my point
what use has it to play a game, when you cant become any more special then other players?
FOW armor, my wish, will probably get 10 times as expensive (uw farming... gonna be harder) all the cool titles...
and btw, you totally forget that pve is not pvp, and should never be... pvp is a small amount of ppl, vs a small amount of people... pve is a small amount of people vs huge amounts of monsters...
